The Storm Damage Restoration Process

Some of our own employees were directly hit by the tornados that have affected our local area in the past few years—We know the hurt firsthand. Storm damage can be shocking in how it reveals the power of what caused it. It often also leads to other forms of damage, such as interior water damage, or even fire damage. We want to help you navigate the process and recover completely. Below is a walkthrough of what can usually be expected from the process of storm damage restoration.

01. Initial Contact

TELL US ABOUT IT

— Contact us immediately. We understand that storms can cause significant and painful losses, and we want to help you start the restoration process as soon as possible. We’ll provide a clear and accurate assessment of what can be saved and what steps need to be taken.

— During our initial call, we’ll ask about the nature of the storm, the extent of the damage, and your plans for insurance involvement.

— Safety is paramount. At this stage, please take precautions to stay safe and avoid the affected area if there’s any risk of harm or injury.

02. Inspection

TAKE A LOOK & GET GOING

– We will arrive at your house as quickly as possible to conduct a thorough inspection. We’ll provide a clear and accurate assessment of what can be saved and what steps need to be taken.

– Upon arrival our technician will survey the damage and move any furniture or contents if there is an immediate need. At that point they will begin a digital estimate, as well as documentation that includes photos of everything.

03. Demo & Extraction (if needed)

GET IT GONE

– If the storm damage has caused excess water standing in places it doesn’t belong, we will get it out. Proper and thorough extraction is crucial for setting up the drying process for success.

– Extraction and demo can mean more than water when it comes to storm damage. In our experience we’ve pulled plenty of trees and even an entire garage off of a house.

– Our technicians and professional grade equipment make quick work of anything needing removed.

04. Drying (if needed)

DRY IT OUT

– There’s a science to drying. If the storm has caused water damage, we will condition the affected area for maximum humidity. Our goal is to get the water out of each and every material affected, into the air, and out of the house.

– Average drying time is probably four days, but every job is unique. We calculate the amount of equipment your home will need and get it dry as quickly as possible. We also document every step of the way for clarity with both you and your insurance company.

04. Cleaning

MAKE IT SHINE

– When the storm passes, there’s a mess to clean up. In every way you can imagine, and probably a few that you can’t, we’ve got you covered. From cleaning to deodorizing, all the way down to the studs if needed, we get it done and often leave things better than before.

FIX IT THE RIGHT WAY

– Depending on what happened, a storm can weaken the structural integrity of your home in a variety of ways. We’ve been doing this for decades and know everything that needs to be fixed, or completely replaced.

– We’re blessed to have one of the most talented teams we’ve ever had, and it’s only getting better. Home damage can affect any of the many areas or materials that come together to build a house. Our crew has experience with all of it. Truthfully, we could do a variety of work within the construction industry, but we choose to help specifically through restoration because of the purpose it provides.
